Unpublished musical theatre written by Daniele Maugeri and Giovanna Albani.
Inspired and based on the current news event of 1992, dubbed “The Romeo & Juliet
of Sarajevo”. It's a 120 minutes musical show set in contemporary times; the style
heavily influenced by the great London classical/rock musical sounds.
The musical speaks about the Sarajevo war where we develop the main characters
stories and several themes like love, friendship, immigration, revenge etc. The story
has a tragic end but the triumph of the power of love.
Within the musical there are also clear references to Greek drama (deus ex
machina) and several spiritual battle references between good and evil and
between religion and war, making Bridge of Roses, a modern tale with a
contemporary meaning that everyone can relate to.
